The Whangamatā Medical Centre is a Cornerstone accredited practice and offers a wide range of administrative, nursing and medical services commensurate with its role in the provision of comprehensive rural primary health care.
WMC has an enrolled patient base of around 4600. The workload requires 4 FTE GPs who consult four days each per week and share on call 1:3.
WMC holds a PRIME contract with ACC. Specialised clinics eg INR, Diabetic, Asthma and Skin clinic are held on a regular basis, along with an outreach nursing contract operating daily.
The practice is equipped with Ultrasound and Radiology (plain film) services.
WMC is a rural general practice with 4 FTE GPs, 8 practice nurses and 8 reception/admin staff.
Office hours are 8:30am – 5:30pm Monday to Friday and 9:00am to 1:00pm Saturday.
WMC runs its own on-call outside of these hours and is contactable by dialing the surgery phone number 24/7 every day of the year.
